1. Purchase and Download WP Rocket

  • Go to the WP Rocket website and purchase a plan.
  • After purchasing, download the plugin from your account.

2. Install and Activate WP Rocket

  • Log in to your WordPress Dashboard.
  • Go to PluginsAdd NewUpload Plugin.
  • Click Choose File and select the WP Rocket plugin file you downloaded.
  • Click Install Now and then Activate.

3. Basic Settings Overview

  • Once activated, WP Rocket automatically enables some default optimizations like page caching and browser caching.
  • You will see a new menu item called WP Rocket in your dashboard.

4. Clear Cache

  • Go to WP RocketDashboard.
  • Click on Clear Cache to clear any existing cache.
  • You can also use the Preload Cache button to generate a new cache for all pages.

5. Enable File Optimization

  • Go to WP RocketFile Optimization.
  • Enable Minify CSS files and Minify JavaScript files to reduce file size.
  • You can also Combine CSS and JS files to reduce HTTP requests.
  • Click Save Changes after enabling these options.

6. Enable Lazy Loading

  • Go to WP RocketMedia.
  • Enable LazyLoad for images, iframes, and videos to load media only when the user scrolls down the page, which improves initial load time.
  • Optionally, disable WordPress emojis to further reduce HTTP requests.
  • Click Save Changes.

7. Enable Cache for Mobile Devices

  • Go to WP RocketCache.
  • Enable Separate cache files for mobile devices to ensure your site is optimized for mobile users.
  • You can also enable User cache if your site has logged-in users.
  • Click Save Changes.

8. Optimize Database

  • Go to WP RocketDatabase.
  • Select the options to clean up post revisions, auto drafts, and trashed posts.
  • You can also clean up comments and optimize database tables.
  • Click Optimize to perform the cleanup.

9. Enable CDN (Optional)

  • If you use a Content Delivery Network (CDN), go to WP RocketCDN.
  • Enable the CDN option and input your CDN details.
  • Click Save Changes.

10. Check Site Speed

  • After applying optimizations, test your site’s performance using Google PageSpeed Insights or GTMetrix to see the improvements.
