Setting up the Taxes in WooCommerce

1. Enable Taxes in WooCommerce

  1. Go to your WordPress Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to WooCommerceSettings.
  3. In the General tab, scroll down and check the box for “Enable tax rates and calculations”.
  4. Click Save Changes.

2. Configure Tax Options

  1. After enabling taxes, a Tax tab will appear in the WooCommerce settings. Click on the Tax tab.
  2. Set the following options:
    • Prices entered with tax: Choose Yes or No based on whether your product prices are entered inclusive or exclusive of tax.
    • Calculate tax based on: Select whether taxes are calculated based on the customer’s shipping address, billing address, or your shop base address.
    • Shipping tax class: Choose whether shipping is taxed, usually based on the product tax class.

3. Add Tax Rates

  1. Under the Tax tab, click on Standard Rates, Reduced Rates, or Zero Rates depending on your tax type.
  2. In the Standard Rates:
    • Click Insert Row to add a new tax rate.
    • Fill in the Country Code, State Code, Postcode/ZIP, and the Rate (%).
    • Add a Tax Name (e.g., VAT, GST) and mark it as Shipping Tax if applicable.
  3. Click Save Changes.

4. Display Taxes on Cart and Checkout

  1. Scroll down under the Tax tab in Tax Options:
    • Display prices in the shop: Select whether you want prices shown inclusive or exclusive of tax.
    • Display prices during cart and checkout: Choose how taxes will appear for customers.
    • Display tax totals: Choose whether to show itemized or a single total tax amount.

5. Customize Product Page with Elementor

  1. To display product prices with tax on your custom Elementor product page:
    • Go to PagesAdd New or edit a product page with Elementor.
    • Use the Product Price widget in Elementor to show the product price, and it will automatically include or exclude tax based on your settings.
  2. Use WooCommerce Widgets in Elementor to customize how taxes and prices are displayed on your shop or product pages.

6. Test Your Tax Setup

  • Add a product to the cart and go to checkout to verify if taxes are correctly applied and displayed based on your location and the rates you set.

Now your WooCommerce store is set up with taxes, and Elementor will display prices according to the tax settings you’ve configured!
