Rank Math SEO

Step 1: Install Rank Math SEO Plugin

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Go to Plugins > Add New.
  3. Search for Rank Math SEO in the search bar.
  4. Click Install Now, and then click Activate.

Step 2: Run the Setup Wizard

  1. Once activated, Rank Math SEO will prompt you to run the Setup Wizard.
  2. Click on the Run the Setup Wizard button.
  3. Follow the steps to configure basic SEO settings:
    • Your Website Type: Choose the type of website (e.g., blog, business, eCommerce).
    • Google Search Console: You can connect your site to Google Search Console (optional).
    • Sitemaps: Rank Math will generate XML sitemaps automatically, just leave this enabled.
  4. Click Save and Continue after each step.

 

Step 3: Optimize Posts and Pages

  1. Open a post or page you want to optimize and click Edit.
  2. Scroll down to the Rank Math SEO section.
  3. Enter your Focus Keyword in the Focus Keyword field.
  4. Rank Math will analyze the content and give you SEO suggestions with an overall score (0-100).
    • Green score (80+): Well optimized.
    • Orange or red: Needs improvement.
  5. Follow the on-screen tips to optimize title tags, content length, internal links, keyword density, etc.

Step 4: Set Meta Titles and Descriptions

  1. In the Rank Math SEO section, go to the General tab.
  2. Customize the SEO Title and Meta Description fields. Use your focus keyword and make sure it’s engaging.
  3. Use the Snippet Preview to see how it will look in search engine results.

Step 5: Configure Global SEO Settings

  1. Go to Rank Math > Titles & Meta in the WordPress dashboard.
  2. Set up your global settings for:
    • Homepage Title and Meta Description.
    • Post Types (for posts, pages, products).
    • Social Sharing settings to control how your site appears when shared on social media.
  3. Save your changes.

Step 6: Submit Sitemap to Google

  1. Rank Math automatically generates an XML sitemap.
  2. Go to Rank Math > Sitemap Settings to confirm the sitemap is enabled.
  3. You can submit your sitemap URL (e.g., yourdomain.com/sitemap_index.xml) to Google Search Console for faster indexing.

Step 7: Track Your SEO Performance

  1. Rank Math provides detailed analytics if you connect it to Google Search Console.
  2. Go to Rank Math > Analytics to monitor your keyword rankings, traffic, and performance.

Now Rank Math is set up, and you can optimize your WordPress site’s SEO for better search engine visibility!
